Prof Grigore Burdea is the recipient of the 2017 IEEE Virtual Reality Career Award presented by the Visualization and Graphic Technical Committee of the IEEE. The award is the highest in this field: established in 2005, it is given every year to an individual to honor that person’s lifetime contribution to virtual and/or AR.
Prof Burdea is noted for his invention of the Rutgers Master, the first force feedback glove as well as VR Therapy to improve symptoms related to chronic pain, dementia, and chronic stroke.
