Since 2019, Shift Medical has established itself as Europe’s leading community for Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and Mixed Reality in healthcare. 3,500 members are actively engaged in our worldwide community by attending virtual and physical events and continuously advancing Medical Extended Reality by building strong collaborations across academia, industry and government agencies.
In 2025, our flagship congress Shift Medical will again focus on strengthening the open and structured knowledge exchange between healthcare providers, businesses, governments and the general public with an exclusive in-person congress in the beautiful city Heidelberg in Germany.

Heidelberg was mentioned for the first time in 1196 and is well known for Germany’s oldest university, the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg, founded in 1386. The city is also home for the world famous Heidelberg University Clinic, the German Cancer Research Centre, the National Center for Tumor Diseases, four Max Planck Institutes and the European Molecular Biology Laboratories (funded by 40 nations).
