Hannes Kenngott has been working as a surgeon for more than 10 years and leads the surgical research group New Technologies and Data Science. His expertise is computer-assisted surgery, clinical decision support systems, cyber-physical systems in surgery, machine learning and digital twins in healthcare. He has used and co-developed solutions with VR, AR and XR. Together with other experts he cofounded healthcare start-ups. He was also part of international consortiums in the area of surgical data science and surgical ontology standardization.

His current project is the new surgical building for the University Hospital Heidelberg with over 20.000 sqm.
